New Generation V Sage ZXL.

It is always exciting when Sage introduces a new top end trout rod, and the ZXL seems custom-designed for fishing in Telluride. ZXL replaces the popular SLT series with a rod of similar action, but refined characteristics. The ZXL is a medium-fast action series of rods, more limber and fine tuned than the Z-Axis Series. Like the SLT Series, ZXL rods are designed for wade fishing and dry fly fishing. The major design improvement enabling this new series is the use of Sage's Generation V graphite materials, resulting in a signficantly lighter blank with greater torsional stiffness. In practical terms, the rod has less swing weight and greater stability for a sweet feel and superb accuracy. This is the type of rod we crave here in Telluride.
