F2 774-3: This model wins my “most improved” award. Here, I really feel the difference in lightness between the new model and the previous model. I won’t replace any of my longer graphite 4-weights with this model, but I would strongly recommend it on pure casting merits and for its usefulness in fishing hoppers and dry-dropper rigs on small streams. I found the F2 774-3 to be light and sweet on overhead casts and truly superb with a roll cast.
Line recommendation: Rio Trout LT or SA XPS, WF or DT
